Benefits of a Low Impact Developed Site are Many
Downhill Water Bodies, Rivers, Lakes, and Oceans are protected and disconnected from potential pollutants, working well with Shoreland zone properties. Existing wildlife ecosystems are protected and many times enhanced. Water well aquifer recharge zones are left intact. The existing landscape recovers very quickly and requires very little maintenance.
Being environmentally responsible does not mean..... more expensive. Low Impact Land Development is less costly than development by conventional means.
Maintenance is significantly less in a Low Impact Development project, requiring minimal to no fertilizer, pesticides, insecticides, or irrigation.
Annual and weekly maintenance is dramatically reduced by as much as 80%
